Kyabje Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, born in 1913 in Kham, Tibet and having attained Parinirvana during tukdam meditation from December 30, 2015 to January 5th 2016, is a peerless Buddha of our time in the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism. He was the Vajra Regent of the Longchen Nyingthig, Dudjom Tersar and Sera Khandro lineages and considered to be a mind emanation of Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. He is revered throughout the Himalayan region for his compassionate activities, such as the promotion of vegetarianism and saving the lives of animals.
